O
liver Sueing is a graduate of G.W. Carver High School in Memphis, Tennessee and Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He began formal vocal study with his mother Mrs. Bennie Wilson, a retired vocal music and piano instructor in the Memphis City School System and piano and voice instructor at the LeMoyne-Owen College, Memphis, TN,  and subsequently with Madame Adria Brunati, a renowned soprano soloist who performed

with famed conductor Arturo Toscanini.  Upon entering Morehouse, he was immediately accepted into the famed Morehouse Glee Club singing initially as a baritone soloist, and subsequently as a tenor soloist. While at Morehouse, he was awarded a Charles E. Merrill overseas Travel Study Scholarship to Vienna, Austria where he enrolled in the Institute for European Studies and was concurrently accepted into the Vienna Academy of Music where he studied Voice under Professor Tuttner.  Oliver then performed in the Vienna Volksoper’s  production of “Showboat” starring the late William Warfield.

 Oliver was the featured tenor soloist during the “80’s with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s “Christmas with Robert Shaw” concerts.  Most notable of his performances were his performances of “The Impossible Dream” solo at the inauguration ceremonies of President Jimmy Carter with the Atlanta University Community Chorus and subsequently, by his request, at the funeral services of Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, President Emeritus of Morehouse College, and most recently at the funeral services of former Atlanta Mayor Maynard Holbrook Jackson. His operatic performances include leading roles with the Phoenix Opera Company of Atlanta, Opera South of Jackson State College, and Americolor Opera Alliance Company of Atlanta,GA.

 Oliver’s recordings include “ O Holy Night”, custom recording,  “ The Impossible Dream”, custom recording, “Choral Masterpieces, Robert Shaw, Atlanta Symphony & Chorus- Telarc, “ There Is Hope for This World”- Bobby Jones & the New Life Singers,

“ Ole Time Religion” – The  3 Inspirational Tenors.  His film credits included “Sister, Sister”, starring Diahann Carrol and the late Paul Winfield.  Oliver has established a tax- exempt music ministry, “Blessed Music Ministries Inc.” which focuses on perpetuating the Negro Spiritual and inspirational music.
